Manuscript Reading Room (B1)

The Reading Room is dedicated for the careful storage of thousands of original manuscripts and assorted references pertaining to Arabic Islamic heritage and civilization, accessible only to postgraduate students and specialized researchers. Nevertheless, the invaluable information held within these works are currently made available to all users through the digitizing of the entire manuscript collection (see Digital Manuscript Archive). The staff in charge is highly qualified in various fields of heritage and has been trained to provide advanced information services. The room is equipped with the latest security and environment control systems to protect the manuscripts from various damage factors and to provide optimum secure conditions for their preservation.
