Dar al-Hilal Project
Through
an agreement concluded between the Manuscript Center and Dar
al-Hilal, an impressive project is currently finalized to publish an
exhaustive digital copy of the issues of al-Hilal magazine. al-Hilal
first appeared before the dawn of the 20th century, in 1892 in
particular. Still in print to the present day, it is by far the
earliest Arabic magazine, whose pages have sincerely reflected the
dynamic trends and orientations of Arab intellectual life. It has
been also an undiscriminating gallery of the output of eminent
creative minds. The issues of each decade are compiled on a CD and
provided with search tools. They are expected to be available to the
public soon.
