al-I‘lām bi-San al-Hijra ilā al-Šām - Informing of the Justification for Immigration to al-Šām

al-I‘lām bi-San al-Hijra ilā al-Šām- ‘Informing of the Justification for Immigration to al-Šām (Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine)’ by al-Biqā‘ī (Burhān al-Dīn Abūl-Hasan Ibrāhīm bin-‘Umar bin-Hasan al-Ribāt, d. 885 AH, 1480 AD). It is different from the book al-I‘lām bi-Fadā’il al-Šām- ‘Informing of the Exquisiteness of al-Šām’ by Ibn al-Firkāh (Burhān al-Dīn Ibrāhīm al-Fazārī, d. 729 AH, 1329 AD), despite the fact that both books share similar titles and the authors’ epithets are identical. In his book, al-Biqā‘ī accounts for his emigration from Egypt to al-Šām. Transcribed in 887 AH (1482 AD) from the original that was written in 880 AH (1475 AD) as indicated by the transcriber, with ex libris inscriptions on the opening page. 10 folios, 17× 13 cm.
