8th International Colloquium for the History of Science
Untrodden Areas in the History of Arabic Science
(28-30 September 2004)
Within
the framework of the established cooperation between the Bibliotheca
Alexandrina and Arab cultural bodies, the International Colloquium
for the History of Science is jointly organized by the BA and the
Institute for the History of Arabic Science (Aleppo University,
Syria). The colloquium will host world specialists in the fields
pertaining to the history of Arabic science and its impact on the
development of human knowledge. It will highlight the untrodden
areas in the history of Arabic science with the thematic focus on:
unpublished Arabic Scientific manuscripts, unknown Arab scientists,
the Arabic scientific output in Egypt and al-Šām, the history of
medical and pharmacological sciences, the history of basic and
applied sciences, as well as the history of urbanization and
architecture.
